Vacation schedules are sent home to help make it easy for parents to inform us when your child will miss a regularly scheduled class and need extra work. The Holiday Vacation Schedule is sent home in November and the Summer Vacation Schedule is sent home in June. These make it easy for parents to let us know when you'll be missing several regularly scheduled classes and plan accordingly. Planning and organizing work for your child takes a great deal of thought and organization. We require at least 1 days notice before any extended absence in order to put your child's vacation packet together. During the holidays or in the summer, it's easy to let us know when you'll be gone and will need packets put together to cover your time away. You can fill out and submit the Vacation Schedule, leave a phone message, e-mail and/or send in a note letting us know the last day your child will be in class and the day they will return to class so that we can organize the right amount of work for your child. If we do not receive advance notice, we will try our best to put a packet together for you by the end of class that day. You may return to class 5 minutes before closing to pick it up. If we are too busy and are not able to put work together, we will call you and arrange to have it ready for you by the next scheduled class session. Please let us know if you want your child to take a few days off, lessen the daily workload, or even increase the amount of work to be done over your vacation. However, if a parent requests extra work or an increase to the regular daily workload while on vacation, the work must be homegraded. Extra work will not be included into the student's lesson plan if it has not been homegraded by the parent while on vacation. |
